York, PA – White Rose Credit Union, among thousands of other financial cooperatives across the world celebrated International Credit Union Day this past October.
The week kicked off with a Spirit Week for staff. Each day the team participated in different themes or activities including Meaningful Monday, Team Tuesday, Wayback Wednesday and Flannel Friday. On Thursday, October 20th, International Credit Union Day, staff sported their White Rose Credit Union gear.
Members were treated to apple cider and cupcakes or cookies throughout all branch lobbies. The credit union also teamed up with a local student-run coffee shop adjacent to the Panther Branch, a high school location of the credit union, to pay for the first $200 worth of coffee orders in celebration of International Credit Union Day.
The credit union also recognized local community entities, dropping off goodie bags at several police departments, schools, emergency service centers and government buildings.
“What a better time to share with others in our community, the true meaning of credit unions. People helping people is not just our philosophy, it’s what we do best! WRCU gave small gifts of “thanks” to some of our partners within the community that parallel our philosophy, such as schools, police, and firefighters among others. In addition to this, the credit union made an entire week of ICUD which really got the staff involved.”, said Debra Kauffman, President and CEO.
