What are your Business Membership requirements?

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, attend school or own a business in York or Adams County Pennsylvania. For Corporations and Limited Liability Companies, the business must be within our field of membership. For Partnerships, all partners must be within our field of membership. For a Sole Proprietorship, the Sole Proprietor and the Business must be within our field of membership. For Non-Profits, Associations, Clubs and Information Organizations, at least one or more members of the group must be within our field of membership. 

What documentation should a Corporation bring to Business Account Opening?

All Business Account Members should bring their EIN/Proof of EIN and Business License, a Fictitious Name Certificate (if doing business under a title other than your name), and proper identification of the individual opening the business account. 

Depending on the type of business you are opening an account for, you should bring the following documentation. 

Corporations:

  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Bylaws or Corporate Resolution
  • 501 Certification Letter from the IRS
  • Identification of individual signers

Additional documentation may be requested if needed.

What documentation should a LLC bring to Business Account Opening?

All Business Account Members should bring their EIN/Proof of EIN and Business License, a Fictitious Name Certificate (if doing business under a title other than your name), and proper identification of the individual opening the business account. 

Depending on the type of business you are opening an account for, you should bring the following documentation. 

Limited Liability Company (LLC):

  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Operation Agreement (if available)
  • Identification of individual signers

Additional documentation may be requested if needed.

What documentation should a Partnership bring to Business Account Opening?

All Business Account Members should bring their EIN/Proof of EIN and Business License, a Fictitious Name Certificate (if doing business under a title other than your name), and proper identification of the individual opening the business account. 

Depending on the type of business you are opening an account for, you should bring the following documentation. 

Partnership:

  • Partnership and/or Operating Agreement
  • Identification of individual signers

Additional documentation may be requested if needed.

What documentation should a Non-Profit bring to Business Account Opening?

All Business Account Members should bring their EIN/Proof of EIN and Business License, a Fictitious Name Certificate (if doing business under a title other than your name), and proper identification of the individual opening the business account. 

Depending on the type of business you are opening an account for, you should bring the following documentation. 

Non-Profit Organizations:

  • TIN or SSN of one of the Authorized Signers
  • Copy of current valid IRS Tax Exemption Certificate
  • Statement from a State Taxing Authority, State Attorney General, or other appropriate State Official certifying non-profit status
  • Governing Parent Organization – Statement stating that the organization is a local non-profit affiliate (if applicable)
  • Identification of individual signers

Additional documentation may be requested if needed.

What documentation should Associations, Clubs, or Informal Organizations bring to Business Account Opening?

All Business Account Members should bring their EIN/Proof of EIN and Business License, a Fictitious Name Certificate (if doing business under a title other than your name), and proper identification of the individual opening the business account. 

Depending on the type of business you are opening an account for, you should bring the following documentation. 

Associations, Clubs, Informal Organizations:

  • TIN or SSN of one of the Authorized Signers 
  • Organizational Documents or Meeting Minutes (if authorized signer is not using their own SSN)
  • Identification of individual signers

Additional documentation may be requested if needed.
